The Astrology of Countries in Crisis Nations are formed politically or symbolically at certain moments of history and therefore have birth charts like individuals - except that countries often are re-born and hence have several astrological charts. We will give an introduction of how the astrology of countries can be used to give meaning to, or even forecast, significant events. A meeting of the Aquarius Severn Astrology Society. 8-10pm at 2 Wolseley Terrace, Oriel Road, Cheltenham. Cost £6.00, or only £4.00 for members. http://www.aquariussevern.com/

2012: Birthing a new consciousness with Judy Hall. In this time of uncertainty and fascination with 2012 considerable fear is being created through predictions of earth changes and disasters. But is this what 2012 is really about? Or is it, as Judy contends, the potential trigger for a change of consciousness? We can consider the birth for 2012 in exactly the same way as we would examine the birthchart for a soul incarnating at that moment. The chart will show the karma and the soul purpose carried in that moment, just as your own chart shows your purpose which we will also examine. Judy Hall has been a karmic astrologer for over 35 years. Her books Patterns of the Past and Karmic Connections explore the karma behind the birthchart and The Hades Moon concentrates on just one aspect: Pluto in contact with the Moon. Followed by Lodge Party (8:30pm) At the Astrological Londge of London, The Theosophical Society, 50 Gloucester Place, London, W1U 8EA www.astrolodge.co.uk

Astrology and the Transition Town Phenomenon In this talk for the Exeter Astrology Group, Ed Gillam will be giving an insight into astrology on a local level. The transition town phenomenon began in southwest England. Ed will be explaining how this might be a positive manifestation of the energy of the solar eclipse of the August 1999 that fell across Devon and Cornwall. Ed will also look at the astrology of the Eden Project, and the Modbury 'bag-free' initiative. Fascinatingly, the Royal Stars of the Persians - Aldebaran, Regulus, Antares and Fomalhaut, seem to play a prominent role in each chart. The astrology of the distant past reaches across 5000 years of human history to touch the southwest. Venue: Friends Meeting House, Magdalen Street, Exeter. Time: 2.30pm - 5.30pm. Cost: £2.50
Saturn in Libra: The Limits of Love with Derek Hawkins. Saturn travels through Libra once every 28 -30 years and will be there until Autumn 2012. Libra governs relationships and partnerships of all kinds and its symbol of the scales represents fairness, balance, harmony and the justice by which they are achieved. Its placement in our Birth Chart is an indication of the areas of life where we may be required to work in harmony with others to acheive our goals. Many of us may be completing a cycle of learning to co-operate with others - a cyclewhich began with Saturn's last sojourn through Libra in 1983 - but over the next few years, Saturn will again be asking us to take a good look in the mirror of relationships and see what is really there for us. In his talk tonight, Derek will look at some of the questions and challenges which Saturn in Libra will present for us and how its placement there will affect the world about us and each of the 12 Zodiac Signs. A talk at Wessex Astrology Circle, Broadstone Community Centre, Poole, Dorset. 7.30pm. Entrance £4.50 includes refreshments. All welcome. Further details: wac-uk.blogspot.com
