Introduction to the Mayan Calendar & our galactic signatures by Eileen McAdam. In 1987 Jose Arguelles, visionary leader of the Harmonic Convergence world gatherings also introduced us to the Mayan Calendar, the 260-day Dreamspell Calendar also known as the T’zolkin. Eileen will look at how Western Astrology can correlate with the Mayan Calendar at this tremendously important time in world history, and take a look at the charts of Jose, a Blue Monkey, and then look at other personalities such as what makes Richard Branson a Red Dragon or Susan Boyle a Yellow Star. This talk is by way of a brief introduction to the benefits of studying the knowledge the Mayans left us, following the invaluable work of modern day researchers, in particular Barbara Hand Clow, Bruce Scofield and the biologist Dr Carl Calleman. There will be some explanatory hand outs to get you started on uncovering your Galactic Signature which I believe, from Eileen’s own research, shows another dimension to a person’s individuality, resonating with their hidden soul urge and life purpose. 6th - 7th: Recovering the Astrology of Health with Graeme Tobyn. Graeme is an experienced astrologer, herbalist and leading authority on Culpeper. He is author of "Culpeper's Medicine" and is a lecturer on the Msc in Herbal Medicine at Univerosty of Central Lancashire. He is also a tutor for the Company of Astrologers, specialising in horary astrology. In this workshop he will demonstrate how health advice could be re-introduced into astrological consultations, based on the 4 temperaments and their compounds via diet and lifestyle. Students would learn to calculate their temperament from their natal chart, a technical process which has the added advantage of teaching them how astrologers of old would have evaluated the horoscope in terms of strengths and weaknesses of planets, identification of the almuten. On the basis of that calculation, students would have at their disposal an understanding of how diet and lifestyle advice (exercise, sleep, environment, activity) should be shaped for that individual. The weekend includes an experiential component of comparing Graeme's assessment of temperament of several of the students by sight and questioning with what their horoscopes reveal and discussion of their diets and habits in the light of their temperament.Graeme will also show how to use the horoscope as a method of prognosis, diagnosis and for the formulation of herbal remedies. Venue: The Roundhouse, St Anne's, Chilkwell St, Glastonbury BA6 8DE. For further details and to book, please visit: www.kairosastrology.co.uk Or Tel: 01458 831771

Mercury: messenger of the Gods, or a Joker? With Pat Hutton. Very little seems to have been written about Mercury. Books tell you that it is the fastest moving planet, associated with quicksilver, darting to and fro (fast retrograde motion) and rushing around the Sun every 88 days. In Mythology he was the winged messenger of the Gods but after that, he is often regarded as trivial. Even so, Mercury is exciting; to be interested, you need to have Mercury quite pronounced in your chart. For this, I qualify, having Mercury rising and ruling both the Ascendant and the Midheaven. We will explore Mercury in a general way and look at it in some charts. Wessex Astrology Circle, Broadstone Community Centre, Poole, Dorset. 7.30pm. Entrance £5 includes refreshments. All welcome.
